Meet our Team

Dr. Jessica Kerr graduated from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine in May of 2020 and had a 16-month internship in dentistry and emergency medicine, as well as experience with general practice medicine. She is starting at Grace Veterinary Hospital in November of 2021, and looks forward most to meeting the new clinic and client family! Dr. Kerr was a military kid but grew up in O’Fallon, Illinois until moving to Decatur to attend Millikin University in 2016, studying biology and Spanish. Outside of work, Dr. Kerr can be found making music, tending to her garden, reading fantasy novels, and playing with her Pitbull, Basil, and tabby cats, Elrond and Galadriel. 

Dr. Danielle Rahe has been with Grace since September of 2019.  Due to the pandemic, she has yet to meet many of you in person, though she has had the pleasure of talking to many of you on the phone. Since we’ve opened the doors, she has been enjoying putting faces to the voices she heard over the phone. 

Dr. Danielle grew up on a dairy farm in Northern Illinois.  It was a childhood full of animals of all shapes and sizes that piqued her interest in veterinary medicine from an early age.  That interest has only grown over the years, though she has narrowed her niche to small animal medicine and a love of pain management, orthopedics, and physical rehabilitation.  She is pursuing her interests to increase her skills in orthopedic surgery this year. 

Dr. Danielle has been involved in veterinary medicine for years, even before starting vet school.  She worked in small animal general practice, canine physical rehabilitation, and companion animal emergency medicine since 2008.  She graduated from the University of Illinois in 2016 with her veterinary degree.

At home, Dr. Danielle’s time is largely occupied by her 5-year-old son.  The little man keeps her busy with science experiments and home-made obstacle courses.  His dream is to become an archeologist...or a YouTuber.  Dr. Rahe enjoys caring for her veritable zoo of pets and keeping them entertained and active.  Her newest animal related hobby includes creating live, bioactive terrariums for her tortoises and snake.

Greetings! Pardon the cliché, but I feel like I am living my dream. I was born and raised on a farm, and I graduated from the University of Illinois School of Veterinary Medicine in 1989. I worked in three different emergency clinics and three other practices before opening Grace Veterinary Clinic in November 2008. I thoroughly enjoy seeing an getting ot know all of the individual pets and helping people and their families.
